New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland Presents
Michele Drown, RN with the 2005 Leadership Award

Portland, Maine (May, 2006) - Michele Drown, RN, Nurse Manager, was presented with the Leadership Award for 2005 by New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland (NERHP). This award is presented yearly to a NERHP manager or administrative staff member who has made significant contributions to the hospital through their outstanding commitment to excellence and leadership in the areas of cost containment, team contributions and customer service. A ceremony was held earlier this year at NERHP's Brighton Room to recognize Ms. Drown.
Amy Morse, CEO, NERHP, quoted from John C. Maxwell, renowned author of The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way." Ms. Morse added, "Michele has guided her staff through tremendous changes and challenges and has encouraged and supported the staff. She truly exemplifies Maxwell's quote."
Michele's career at NERHP started in 1986 as a Unit Director. She became the Education Coordinator in 1996 and held that position until 2004 when she was promoted to Nurse Manager. Her previous experience and intimate knowledge of New England Rehab are key components to her success as a leader.
