New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland Presents Co-Leadership Awards

PORTLAND, Maine - At an employee recognition ceremony held May 23, 2007, Amy Morse, CEO, explained that the Administration Team had received tie votes for the Leadership Nomination. Two outstanding individuals were announced:

Neil Schuster, MS, PT, Rehabilitation Manager at New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland (NERHP), was presented with the Leadership Award for 2006 at an employee recognition ceremony held May 23, 2007. The award is presented annually to an NERHP manager or administrative staff member who has made significant contributions to the hospital through their outstanding commitment to excellence and leadership in the areas of cost containment, team contributions and customer service.

"Neil works outside the realm of his job as needed to improve the patient experience. He is involved in many interdisciplinary projects and is a community contributor," stated Amy Morse, CEO. "He provides his staff with a fair, consistent message of patient centered care."

Schuster, of Saco, has been at New England Rehabilitation Hospital since 1992.

Tom McOsker, MACCC-SLP, Speech Language Pathology Clinical Lead at New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland (NERHP), was presented with the Leadership Award for 2006 at an employee recognition ceremony held May 23, 2007. The award is presented annually to an NERHP manager or administrative staff member who has made significant contributions to the hospital through their outstanding commitment to excellence and leadership in the areas of cost containment, team contributions and customer service.

"Since joining New England Rehab, Tom has provided leadership and research based clinical expertise," stated Amy Morse, CEO. "He is our true leader in our efforts to become the best clinical environment for patients and staff."

McOsker, of South Portland, joined the NERHP staff in 2005.
