Pediatric Program 
Disability in any capacity changes the life of not only the individual affected but also the lives of those close to them. At New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland we are dedicated to "whole child care", looking at every aspect of his or her life, including the impact on the family. Depending on the child's needs, the evaluation may be done by one discipline of a multi-disciplinary team. Our goal is to help you develop an effective plan to maximize the functional, mental and emotional well being of your child.

Community Re-Entry Community re-entry is particularly difficult for patients with new disabilities. Parents frequently are unaware of what specific interventions their children need in school and in the community to access appropriate services and/or accommodations. This is a critical area where our specially trained professionals provide guidance and assistance for a successful transition. The areas we focus on include: Admission Criteria This rehabilitation service is appropriate for any child five years or older who has sustained a physical or neurological injury that has affected his/her ability to continue to develop to the best of his/her ability or perform activities of daily living. A physician referral for treatment is required. To make an appointment: Discuss your issues with your child's physician and ask for a referral to this program.
